Baroni: "We stayed in the game until the end, we have to improve on offense" / VIDEO
Verona - Statements from Hellas Verona manager Marco Baroni, released after Hellas Verona-Atalanta, 6th fixture of the 2023/24 Serie A TIM.
Mister, what are your thoughts on this game in which you fought until the end? "Yes this is something we don't need to lack, today we put together a solid performance. Atalanta went ahead on a chance in which we could've done better. They are a solid team that plays together since quite some time, but defensively we played a good game. They went on to close spaces on defense they played with power and committed a lot of fouls, they didn't concede much on defense. When they closed spaces in the middle we had to work more on the wings: we'll need to improve on this".
Henry came back after multiple months, he'll be an important chess piece for your team... "He's a player I waited for as initially we planned to let him make some appearances with the Primavera team in order to give him some useful minutes. With Djuric out, Henry is the first option, that's why I waited in order to give him the right amount of minutes. Today I saw him well, he still has to reach his top form since he has recovered from a tough injury that I think it's behind him".
Now the focus is on the game against Torino... "For sure, we always have to be alive and keep up our head. We have to face tough games but the team from a performance standpoint is doing well, we are strong and on point both physically and mentally. Seeing them find a goal quickly it's not easy but today we were alive and in the game until the end. Those game will be useful for us, without doubts. We have to improve on offense in order to find the goals we need".
