HELLAS VERONA AND PLASTIC FREE TOGETHER TO COMBAT PLASTIC POLLUTION
LESSON ON PLASTIC POLLUTION AT THE SEGHETTI INSTITUTE
On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Plastic Free participated in an educational session on plastic pollution at the Seghetti Institute in Verona, which is part of the Hellas Verona School Project.
The lesson, aimed at first- and second-year students of the Scientific Sports High School, was led by Giovanna Leardini, Provincial and Vice-Regional Representative of Plastic Free. She discussed the harmful effects of plastic pollution, highlighting the serious consequences caused by improper waste management and presenting practical solutions to reduce environmental impact.
STADIUM BENTEGODI CLEAN-UP FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
On April 22, 2024, in celebration of Earth Day, Hellas Verona and the Plastic Free Association took part in an environmental clean-up activity at Bentegodi Stadium. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the negative effects of plastic pollution and emphasize the importance of proper waste management.
The event, led by Giovanna Leardini, Provincial and Vice-Regional Representative of Plastic Free, was also joined by Jackson Tchatchoua, player of the Hellas Verona Men’s First Team, and Sara Corsi and Giulia Mancuso, players from Hellas Verona Women. Together with the Hellas Verona Youth Academy members, they carried out a clean-up of the East Stand of the stadium.

OUR POWER, OUR PLANET
On the occasion of Earth Day, April 22, 2025, Hellas Verona launched an awareness campaign to highlight the environmental impact caused by the excessive use and improper disposal of plastic.
In the video, featuring Hellas Verona’s official creator JPata and the Gialloblù forward Casper Tengstedt, the focus is on the importance of everyday actions such as recycling, reducing plastic use, and adopting sustainable behaviors.
Corepla – the National Consortium for the Collection, Recycling, and Recovery of Plastic Packaging – also collaborated on the project, providing an eco-compactor as part of the RecoPet initiative, which aims to promote the collection and recycling of PET bottles.
