Hellas Verona and the Nadia Valsecchi Foundation Together for Pancreatic Cancer Prevention
MEETING AT THE SEGHETTI INSTITUTE ON THE OCCASION OF WORLD PANCREATIC CANCER DAY
On November 21, 2024, on the occasion of World Pancreatic Cancer Day, the Hellas Verona Foundation and the ‘Valsecchi Foundation’ met with the fourth-year students of the Seghetti Institute to deepen the discussion on research and prevention related to pancreatic cancer.
The event was introduced by Zaccaria Tommasi, Head of Technical Area at Hellas Verona Women and Vice Principal of the Institute, who emphasized the need to address such delicate yet crucial topics. Federica Valsecchi, President of the Foundation and moderator of the discussion, thanked HV Foundation for choosing to join the Foundation in raising awareness among young people about this disease.
The discussion also featured contributions from professionals in the field, including Michele Milella, Director of the Oncology Department at the Integrated University Hospital (AOUI) of Verona, Roberto Salvia, Director of the Pancreatic Surgery Department of the same hospital, and Davide Pasini, Researcher at the University of Verona.
The Foundation was established in 2015 with the goal of supporting scientific research and raising public awareness about this type of cancer. Thanks to its ongoing commitment, the organization has helped launch research projects aimed at understanding the biological mechanisms underlying this disease, which is currently the third leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide.

The Hellas Verona Foundation supported the ‘Nadia Valsecchi’ Foundation by auctioning off the match-worn shirts from the Serie A game between Hellas Verona and Roma, held on November 3, 2024, through the platform MatchWornShirt. All proceeds were donated in full to the Valsecchi Foundation.
