HELLAS VERONA FOUNDATION AND SAVE MORAS TOGETHER TO PROMOTE BONE MARROW DONATION

On June 21, 2025, Hellas Verona Foundation and the Save Moras association organized the charity event “In Campo X Donare” (On the Field to Donate) at the ‘Olivieri’ stadium in Verona – a triangular football tournament aimed at raising awareness among the public, especially young people, about the importance of bone marrow donation.

The project was inspired by the story of Dimitris Moras, brother of former Hellas Verona player Vangelis Moras, who passed away in 2015 due to leukemia. From this personal tragedy, the association Save Moras was born, and it has since been committed to promoting a culture of donation and supporting those affected by hematologic cancers.

Three teams took part in the tournament: a local youth selection, a team made up of content creators, and a squad of former Hellas Verona players.

Among the former professionals who took to the pitch were Vangelis Moras himself, along with Damiano Tommasi, Simon Laner, Juanito Gomez, Simone Bentivoglio, Gaby Mudingayi, Pierluigi Di Già, Stefano Garzon, Claudio Ferrarese, Riccardo Meggiorini, Domenico Maietta, Antimo Iunco, Massimo Donati, Mauro Bressan, and Giuseppe Pugliese. The team was managed on the sidelines by Andrea Mandorlini, who led Hellas Verona to promotion to Serie A in 2013.

The creators’ team featured some of the most popular Italian digital personalities, including JPata, Federico Marconi, Davide Bertocchi, VittoGk, Noweak, Maxito, Sickwolf, Maschera, Gilbert Nana, Sosia Lautaro, and many others.

The event served as a moment of connection between different generations, united by a shared desire to do good through sport and the promotion of positive values. The active participation of both former athletes and content creators helped make the message even more powerful and accessible.

With this initiative, Hellas Verona Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting high-impact social projects that engage the local community and bring younger generations closer to vital civil and health-related issues.
