In Campo X Donare | Press Conference for the Charity Event Held at the Municipality of Verona
Verona - The press conference presenting the second edition of “In Campo X Donare” was held today in the Sala Arazzi at the Municipality of Verona. The charity tournament is organized by Hellas Verona Foundation in collaboration with the Save Moras association.
The event, with free admission upon reservation through Eventbrite, is scheduled to take place at the Olivieri Stadium on Sunday, May 31, starting from 4 p.m. Its aim is to raise awareness among citizens, especially younger generations, about the importance of bone marrow donation, in memory of Dimitris Moras, the late brother of former yellow-and-blue defender Vangelis Moras.
During the press conference, speeches were delivered by Luisa Ceni, Councillor for Social Policies and the Third Sector, Claudia Annechini, President of the 8th District, Claudio Fidilio, President of the AIA Verona Section, Mattia Mazzuccato, Head of Save Moras, together with Zaccaria Tommasi, representing Hellas Verona, who presented the meaning of the tournament and the support for social projects with a strong impact on the local community.
These were the words of Zaccaria Tommasi: "We are happy to have reached the second year of this event, which we strongly believe in. The project has now become established and we want to continue promoting it with conviction, thanks to a growing level of involvement from everyone. This year we also managed to involve schools, which actively participated by creating the event poster. We also received a great response from many former Hellas Verona players, such as Maietta, Juanito Gomez and of course Moras himself, in addition to the presence of coach Mandorlini. The participation of content creators and the Eva Milano women’s team was also important, as they will take the field together with four players from Hellas Verona Women: Peretti, Corsi, Maffei and Anghileri. All of this helped create meaningful participation. The goal remains to reach as many people as possible, from parents to young people, in order to raise awareness especially among the potential donor age group, namely those between 18 and 35 years old. Young people mainly move through social media, and seeing events like this, capable of combining sport with awareness, is, in my opinion, a wonderful and winning choice".
‘In Campo X Donare’ aims to reaffirm the value of sport as a tool for unity and solidarity, capable of bringing together football players, young people, fans and citizens around a concrete message: donating can save a life.
