UICI Verona

The Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired – Verona Branch offers a wide range of activities and services aimed at improving the quality of life for people with visual disabilities, promoting inclusion, independence, and active participation in social life.

Among the most important services is the patronage office, which provides assistance with procedures related to pensions, disability benefits, allowances, and other rights, helping individuals navigate often complex bureaucratic processes. Alongside this, there is a listening and support service designed to offer psychological assistance and guidance for those dealing with total or partial vision loss.

The association also focuses strongly on education, with initiatives that support the school inclusion of blind and visually impaired students by working closely with families and teachers. On the technological side, UICI Verona offers consultations and training in the use of specific tools such as braille displays, screen readers, and accessibility software – essential aids for independent study, work, and daily living.

Mobility training is another key area, aimed at helping individuals move safely and autonomously in both urban and non-urban environments. The association also organizes a variety of cultural and recreational activities – including trips, accessible cultural events, theater and music performances – and promotes sports programs adapted to all ages and needs.

All of this is made possible thanks to a network of qualified professionals – including psychologists, counselors, and specialized operators – who work with the association to provide tailored, high-quality support. While based in Verona, many services are also available online or at home, allowing UICI Verona to reach an even wider audience.
